nêyaskwêyâhk nehiyâwêwin kiskinohamâkosiwin

Grateful for the chance today to visit Maskwacis along with colleagues from the University of Alberta, First Nations University, and University of Tromsø, and find myself surrounded by so many fine Cree speakers for the grand opening of the new “sohki” house as a specialized centre for Cree language education. I hope it becomes the community centre for language and laughter!

Part of the fun (for me) was seeing a whiteboard note advertising the upcoming Algonquian Conference, to be held in Winnipeg in October 2015. I couldn’t help adding a personal invitation, in hopes that some Maswacis speakers and teachers might join us there. https://sites.google.com/site/algonquianconference/47/call-for-papers
