Edmonton poet gives fresh, vital voice to ancient tongue (video)

A beautiful review of Naomi McIlwraith’s new book of poetry, in English and Cree, along with a picture/video by Edmonton Journal writer Paula Simons featuring Naomi reading. Wouldn’t it be nice if etymology were always so gentle and poetic.

[as of October 2019, the piece is no longer available via the Edmonton Journal, but it can still be found on Youtube, where Naomi reads her poem “Language Family”.]
