How nice to discover today the website and blog of Cree writer Larry Loyie and his publishing collaborator Constance Brissenden. How interesting (for me, at least) that — through a sea of mutual acquaintances — they tie together my own connections to both the Cree community, and that of Professional Editors.
Larry’s personal stories of his residential school experience have been widely praised for qualities such as their “precise memory” and “gentle voice.” I only wish it were possible to persuade him to tell some stories in Cree!
Here is a biographical article published about Larry in the online voice of Soka Gakkai International, a Buddhist newsletter. A Hidden History Revealed | About Us | Soka Gakkai International (SGI).
