Sunset Haiku by Solomon Ratt (y-dialect)

Fresh from Solomon Ratt, capturing the beauty of a blood-red Saskatchewan sunset in Haiku form. I bet you can’t even explain “Haiku” in Cree in less than 17 syllables!

kisâstaw mihko…
The sun is setting,
The sky is red, beautiful;
looks just like it’s blood.
