How We Bring our Language Back: Randy Morin

nêhiyaw ôma kiya: nêhiyaw pimâtisi. nêhiyawê!

Thanks to Randy Morin for sharing this Shaw Spotlight video that shows us the path to language survival and revitalization he found through his grandmother’s encouragement.

Language is a vital component when it comes to preserving culture. It is how values, beliefs & customs are passed down from generation to generation. If a language is lost, so too is its history. Many Indigenous languages in Canada are in danger of disappearing, but what can be done to ensure nothing is lost? The simple answer is create more speakers. That is exactly what Randy Morin is trying to do #ShawSpotlight #Language #Culture
