First We Listen: Solomon Ratt (y-dialect)

Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) and nêhiyawêwin are sister languages, and they share the same language reclamation goals. This meme was adapted from an un-named Ojibwe/Anishinaabemowin language group after it was shared on FaceBook almost a year ago. It seems like a shoe that fits (at least well enough for sisters to share.) Thanks to Solomon Ratt for translation and adaptation as well as the photo.

To the heartbeat of mother earth
We listen to the words
We listen to the elders
Then we listen to ourselves
