okāwīsimāw omēkiwin askīhkānihk ohci / Auntie’s Rez Surprise: Dorothy Thunder (y-dialect)

Another exciting dual-language kids’ book from Second Story Press is on its way and ready for pre-orders. okāwīsimāw omēkiwin askīhkānihk ohci / Auntie’s Rez Surprise is written by Heather O’Watch, illustrated by Ellie Arscott, and translated by Dorothy Thunder into Plains Cree. Here’s how Second Story describes it:

Auntie always greets Cree in Nehiyaw when she comes for a visit. When Auntie arrives with a surprise gift hidden in her bag, Cree can’t wait to discover what it is. The first clue? It’s from the rez. As Cree tries to figure out what it might be, the bag starts to move!

Here’s the pre-order link for September release (though the way Auntie drives in the illustrations, it should be here in no time at all!)
