Listen to Buffy’s own story synopsis here (via Instagram video):
Solomon Ratt (whom Buffy calls “lovely”!) prepared the translation of this first ever Cree-language chapter book, that entertains and amuses while stretching reading and listening comprehension skills of young (and older!) readers. He also recorded the audio in a formal studio setting arranged by the publisher, Greystone. On its own, the audio provides a great opportunity for listening comprehension with whole chapters of text fluently and confidently read. Listening to the audio while reading your own print copy adds a huge layer of support for reading comprehension and pronunciation, all at once. And you can listen as often as you like!
Postscript (26 April 2023): Buffy’s interview with Quill and Quire that even gives us at CLN a shout out! <3 Buffy!
