The Treaty 6 signings at Fort Carlton and Fort Pitt are two halves of the same whole, now, as they were 150 years ago. The gathering at Fort Pitt – hosted by Onion Lake Cree Nation – offered “a meaningful moment of unity, culture, and reflection as Treaty 6 continues to be honoured and carried forward for future generations.”
The videos and images captured by 7th Gen Productions are breathtakingly beautiful. Sincere thanks to Jaron Dillon (OLCN Media & Communications Supervisor) for permission to share here.
This FaceBook reel of highlights from the Grand Entry is shared from the OLCN FaceBook page. It captures the heart and spirit of the event – as well as those of the viewer – that brought together youth, leadership, veterans, dancers, flag bearers, and community members in recognition of the occasion. ” Accompanied by Fawn Wood’s “Tapwe Oma,” it brought tears to my eyes.
